Matt Freire is a documentary photographer and filmmaker who spent 12 years as a U.S. Army Combat Cameraman (COMCAM) covering military contingency operations. During that time, he documented over 20 foreign militaries throughout the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. Freire studied photojournalism at Syracuse University and video productions at the Defense Information School (DINFOS). He has contributed work to Al Jazeera and the New York Times. Since leaving the military, he maintains his passion for service and storytelling by teaching and mentoring as Senior Production Manager for Wide Angle Productions in Baltimore, Maryland.
