Sydney Allen uses photography to disrupt stereotypical black iconography, replacing it with empowering imagery. She focuses on the varying communities and subcultures of Baltimore as well as the individuals within them. Sydney looks into the intimacy created in these spaces and within-subjects as part of her storytelling process.
